Your Ultimate Guide To Rainy Wedding Days, Hint: It's Not The End of The World!

Bjorn Schmal • March 28, 2023

As a wedding videographer, I know that one of the biggest worries for couples on their big day is the weather. Rain on a wedding day can be a source of stress, but it doesn't have to be! Here are some tips for having a beautiful and memorable wedding, even on a rainy day:

Rainy Queensland Wedding

Firstly, embrace the rain! Some of the most beautiful and unique wedding photos and videos are taken in the rain. Rain can create beautiful reflections and soft lighting that can make for stunning photos and videos.

Secondly, prepare for the rain. Make sure to have some umbrellas and rain boots on hand for you and your bridal party. This can make for some fun and unique photo and video opportunities. Also, consider having a backup indoor location for the ceremony or reception, just in case.

Thirdly, communicate with your wedding vendors. Make sure your photographer and videographer are prepared for the rain and have the necessary equipment to capture beautiful footage. They may also have some creative ideas for capturing unique shots in the rain.

Fourthly, be flexible. Rain can cause delays or changes in plans, but being flexible and adapting to the situation can make for a stress-free and enjoyable day. Embrace the unexpected and have fun with it!

Four words: Dancing. In. The. Rain. Seriously, some of the best reception parties I've seen have included dancing in the rain to cool down!

Finally, remember the real reason for your wedding day. Rain or shine, the most important thing is that you are marrying the love of your life. Focus on each other and the love you share, and the rain will simply be a part of your beautiful wedding day story.

In conclusion, while rain on your wedding day may not have been part of your original plan, it can make for a beautiful and memorable day if you embrace it with a positive attitude and a little bit of preparation. As a wedding videographer, I am always prepared for any weather and ready to capture the beautiful moments of your special day, rain or shine.

As a wedding photographer based in South East Queensland, I've had the privilege of capturing weddings in some of the region's most stunning locations, from the lush hinterland to the beautiful beaches and vibrant city venues. One of my favourite things to photograph is the beautiful floral arrangements that couples select to complement their big day. Flowers add so much personality and charm to your wedding day, and when you choose blooms that are in season, they’ll not only look fresh but also help create a harmonious connection with the natural beauty of Queensland. Whether you're planning a beachside ceremony on the Gold Coast, a garden wedding in Brisbane, or a mountain retreat in the Scenic Rim, here’s your guide to choosing the right wedding flowers based on the season, and how to work with a florist to create the perfect arrangements within your budget.
