St Benards Hotel Wedding Video and Photography | Nic and Ash

Bjorn Schmal • August 13, 2023

It's not every day you get the chance to shoot your friend's wedding!

I've had the privilege of witnessing and capturing countless love stories, but there's something truly special about photographing a friend's wedding. I was thrilled to shoot Ash and Nick's wedding, and even better, they chose one of my favourite venues- St Benards Hotel on Tamborine Mountain, and an amazing celebrant Michelle from The Wild Hitcher.

An Emotional Connection

Being close friends with the couple brought a unique dynamic to the photography experience. Our shared history allowed me to understand their love on a deeper level, which translated into more meaningful photographs and videos. The love they shared was evident in the way they looked at each other, the subtle gestures, and the heartfelt vows they exchanged. As their friend and photographer, I felt every emotional moment along with them, making the process even more rewarding.

A Balancing Act

Photographing and capturing videos simultaneouslyis always a balancing act. I always take the time to make sure the photography is set up for success, ensuring that I don't miss any crucial shots or candid moments. The key to my videos is multiple cameras set up at all times- ensuring I don't miss any angle of the perfect shot!

A Heartfelt Thank You

Photographing and videoing my friends' wedding was an unforgettable experience. It deepened our friendship and reminded me why I fell in love with wedding photography in the first place. Being part of their special day was an honor, and I'm grateful to have been able to create lasting memories for them to cherish for a lifetime.
