Congratulations on your wedding! There's a lot of new and exciting trends in weddings this year, which one do you think you'll pick?

1. Smaller, more intimate weddings

After the COVID-19 pandemic, many couples have opted for smaller and more intimate weddings. This trend is likely to continue in 2023, with more couples choosing to host a small and meaningful celebration with their closest friends and family.

2. Non-traditional venues

Couples are increasingly choosing non-traditional venues, such as industrial warehouses, rooftops, and museums, to host their weddings. In 2023, we might see more couples opting for unique and unconventional wedding venues.

3. Personalized experiences

Couples are also looking for ways to make their weddings more personalized and unique. In 2023, we might see more couples incorporating personal touches, such as customized cocktails, unique wedding favors, and personalized signage.

4. Interactive entertainment

Rather than just having a DJ or band, couples are now opting for interactive entertainment to keep their guests engaged and entertained. In 2023, we might see more couples incorporating activities like photo booths, lawn games, and interactive food stations.

It's important to keep in mind that wedding trends are constantly evolving, and what's popular one year may not be the next. Ultimately, the most important thing is to plan a wedding that reflects your personal style and values.

5. Sustainable weddings

With a growing concern for the environment, many couples are looking for ways to reduce their wedding's environmental impact. This trend is expected to continue in 2023, with more couples choosing eco-friendly venues, locally sourced food, and sustainable decor.

As a wedding photographer based in South East Queensland, I've had the privilege of capturing weddings in some of the region's most stunning locations, from the lush hinterland to the beautiful beaches and vibrant city venues. One of my favourite things to photograph is the beautiful floral arrangements that couples select to complement their big day. Flowers add so much personality and charm to your wedding day, and when you choose blooms that are in season, they’ll not only look fresh but also help create a harmonious connection with the natural beauty of Queensland. Whether you're planning a beachside ceremony on the Gold Coast, a garden wedding in Brisbane, or a mountain retreat in the Scenic Rim, here’s your guide to choosing the right wedding flowers based on the season, and how to work with a florist to create the perfect arrangements within your budget.

I’m sharing some simple, effective tips to help you handle wedding day nerves, stay grounded, and be fully present as you say "I do"—whether you're tying the knot in Brisbane, the Gold Coast, or the beautiful hinterland of the Scenic Rim.
